Do you want to enjoy your garden but without all the hassle and hard work?
Are you finding it difficult to keep your garden looking good? Perhaps you’re just not sure what to do, or maybe you don’t have the time or even the energy any more.
At GreenArt, not only do we design and build beautiful gardens, we also care for them throughout the year. Our aim, through our garden services team, is to make it easier for you to enjoy your garden while allowing it to develop and flourish.
Beds & borders
To keep your beds looking beautiful, we’ll hand weed, stake perennials, turn over soil, improve with compost, dead-head and trim and tidy dead growth. If appropriate we’ll split perennials and re-plant as well as plant new bulbs and annuals, that we can also supply. We’ll apply seasonal feeds and can supply and mulch if required. We’ll keep edges neat and ensure beds are kept clear of leaves and plant debris.
Lawns
As well as regular mowing, we’ll ensure your lawn looks its best all year round. We can feed your lawn in early Spring and Summer, treat weeds before they become a problem and fertilise and aerate your lawn in the Autumn to keep it healthy and looking great before the onset of winter. During the winter months we can apply treatments to prevent moss before it builds up and soil conditioner to promote healthy growth.
Roses
The traditional English garden wouldn’t be complete without shrub, climbing or rambling roses. In addition to looking after the climbers, we will dead-head, prune correctly and feed roses regularly to maintain healthy, repeat flowering plants. With regular care and maintenance we can prevent common problems such as mildew, black spot or rust or treat them quickly should they arise.
Trees & large shrubs
To get the best from the larger trees and shrubs in your garden, we will ensure that any newly planted specimens are watered correctly and regularly. We’ll stake young trees if necessary to make sure they get the best start and establish a strong root system. Then throughout the year, we’ll prune, shape and tidy shrubs to promote healthy growth and treat any disease, should it occur. We can also shape trees and remove dead wood as well as undertake tree surgery should this be required.
Ponds, pools & water features
Whether you have a natural pool or more formal pond, it’s vital to maintain every component, and this includes the plants and wildlife within the pond, the water quality and all the surrounding surfaces and structures. We take care of all aspects of pond maintenance including monitoring and managing a natural water balance, maintaining clear water, treating or removing excess plant growth and cleaning and maintaining pumps, pipes and filters. We’ll also regularly check and clean surrounding surfaces and check and repair structures such as bridges, stepping stones or decking to ensure your pond is safe to enjoy all year round.
Pots & planters
Gardens of all sizes, shapes and styles can be enhanced by beautiful pots and plants. Just like beds and border, however, these need to be kept weed-free, watered, fed and refreshed regularly. We can help you choose the right pot for your particularly space and then either supply it pre-planted or help you to keep it looking in tip-top condition. We can also supply additional plants for parties or special occasions or to create a really festive look at Christmas.
Hedges
As a vital part of the environment, not just as a boundary or garden feature but also as a home to birds and wildlife, it is important to look after hedges correctly. We will trim and cut back regularly, at times to avoid disturbing nesting birds or young mammals, as well as feed and mulch to improve water retention and reduce weed growth.
Paths, patios, decks & paving
Alongside your plants and lawn, it’s important to maintain the condition of your hard landscaping features so that you can fully enjoy your garden. We can regularly clean patios and decking and keep paving and paths weed-free. We can also undertake minor repairs or improvements to ensure your garden is safe and accessible.
Climbers
You may have a pergola with scented climbers, rose walk, or perhaps wisteria trained against a building. To ensure these plants stay healthy, flower regularly and are kept under control, we can tie them in, prune and cut back seasonally to create a stunning effect in your garden.
Fruit & vegetables
Growing-your-own takes time and effort. We can take the hard work out of it for you by preparing beds, planting, staking and weeding so that you can enjoy reaping the benefits. We can advise on how to prevent or treat disease – just how much we do, is up to you.
Wildflower meadows
Even wildflower meadows need maintenance to ensure that they continue to produce the effect you are looking for – whether as a habitat for bees and insects or as a way to create less informal colour and interest. Knowing when and what to mow is important to ensure you enjoy your meadows all year round.
Wildlife
For many gardeners, the wildlife they attract through planting and creating habitats, is as important as the plants themselves. We can help you to maintain an environment that will attract and sustain birds, bees and small mammals such as hedgehogs, frogs and newts while inhibiting unwanted visitors such as rabbits, pests or vermin. Often this involves careful management of compost bins and leaf piles to help create natural compost at the same time as a safe haven for small mammals.
Invasive species
Whether you have an existing problem with an invasive species or harmful weeds or need help to prevent them establishing, our team can advise you or take the necessary steps to keep them under control or eradicate them completely. Sometimes it’s just a case of digging out the plant, but should more drastic action be required, we will use the most environmentally-friendly chemical treatment to avoid damage to other plants or the wider environment.

What our clients say about our Care & Development Team…
The garden is looking very good despite the hot weather. Please pass our thanks on to the team. Many thanks for the continuing excellent work on the garden.
– Charles
Whatever the size or style of garden and depending on your level of skill, ability or interest in gardening, our team can design an annual or 6-month programme that will suit you and your garden.
We’ll agree the number of hours required on a regular basis and adjust this for the increased or decreased demands of the seasons. While we include the cost of all hand-held tools and machinery, should we need to hire specialist equipment (such as a stump-grinder), remove waste or supply mulch, compost, feed or pesticides these will be charged separately.
To keep life simple, we take payment via direct debit, advising you in advance of any materials that may be required.
Above all we work with you to make sure your garden looks great, stays healthy and gives you the time to enjoy it, all year round.
